Producing cross-sections

  • what you need ruler, pencil and seperate A4 paper

a cross section is
  • a section created by a plane cutting a solid perpendicular to its longest axis

    • choose a point on the map where you want to start mark it "A"
    • Make "B" on your finishing point\
    • Measure with your ruler from point "A" to "B"
    • Draw a line of the same measurement on the separate A4 sheet
    • Draw two vertical lines on either side
    • Using the contour lines that are on the map to make a general scale
    • using specific points from "A" to "B" on the map
    • mark on the separate piece of paper
    • finaly join these dots together
